Job Description
We are offering one-year work-study placements for graduates who want to complete a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) while gaining practical experience at Halls Academy’s distance-learning centre at Laila Ahmed Halls in Chittagong. Halls Academy, an education initiative of Hamid Yasir & Co., operates the centre as part of its broader work in education and professional development.
To support your qualification, we provide full sponsorship of the B.Ed. tuition. Trainees are responsible for their own living and study expenses, including accommodation, food, transport, and books. You’ll study part-time and work full-time under a Hall Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tutor learners and help them understand their coursework
- Support assignments, revision, and exam preparation
- Help learners access course materials and online resources
- Monitor learners’ attendance and engagement, and raise concerns with the Hall Coordinator when appropriate
- Maintain the study space, equipment, and learning materials
- Assist with the centre’s day-to-day operations
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Meet the admission requirements for the B.Ed. programme at Bangladesh Open University (BOU)
- Apply to BOU independently and secure admission within six months of starting the placement
- Able to balance part-time study with full-time work
- Able to work responsibly with learners
WHAT WE PROVIDE
- Full sponsorship of B.Ed. tuition
- Practical experience in tutoring and learner support
- Assistance from the Hall Coordinator in finding accommodation, if needed
AFTER COMPLETION
Trainees who complete the B.Ed. in good academic standing and perform well at the centre may be considered for a full-time teaching position at Halls Academy. A full-time position is not guaranteed.
