Role Description: The Welfare Officer is a full-time on-site role based in Chandra, Gazipur, responsible for supporting the well-being and rights of employees within the factory. Daily activities include monitoring workplace conditions, addressing worker concerns, and facilitating access to welfare services such as health, safety, and counseling support. The role involves organizing awareness sessions and training on policies, safety, and employee benefits, as well as ensuring compliance with local labor laws and buyer codes of conduct. The Welfare Officer will collaborate with HR and management, conduct interviews with workers to understand their needs, and help resolve grievances in a fair and timely manner. The position also includes maintaining accurate welfare-related records and reporting on welfare initiatives to management and external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess skills in welfare and social services, including supporting worker well-being and managing employee grievances.
• Candidates should possess skills in training, such as conducting awareness sessions, orientations, and workshops for employees.
• Candidates should possess skills in interviewing and recruiting, including worker consultations, basic counseling interviews, and supporting HR in fair hiring practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse employee groups and work collaboratively with management.
• Knowledge of labor laws, ethical compliance, and workplace safety practices in the garment sector; prior experience in factory or industrial welfare roles is an advantage.
• Relevant academic background in social science, social work, human resources.
