STRATUSstaff is expanding its remote development team and looking for WordPress / WooCommerce Developers who can take ownership of real website work from requirement through delivery.
We're particularly interested in developers comfortable working beyond page builders — troubleshooting existing sites, extending functionality, working with plugins and APIs, and solving technical problems independently.
• WordPress website development and maintenance
• WooCommerce stores and ecommerce functionality
• PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development
• Themes, child themes, Gutenberg, and custom blocks
• Plugin configuration and custom development
• Forms, APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations
• Checkout, product, catalog, and ecommerce workflows
• Responsive and cross-device issues
• Performance and technical troubleshooting
• Existing-site debugging and repair
• Deployment, testing, and ongoing improvements
• Clear documentation of technical work
We're looking for developers who can investigate and solve problems, not simply follow a page-building checklist.
You should have:
• Hands-on WordPress development experience
• Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with themes and plugins
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Comfort reading technical documentation
• Ability to research unfamiliar problems independently
• Clear written English
• Reliable remote communication
Experience with WooCommerce, REST APIs, custom plugins, Git, webhooks, integrations, automation, or server/hosting environments is particularly valuable.
STRATUSstaff works through small remote PODS — Professional, Organized, Dedicated, Support.
Developers work alongside other technical, operations, content, and project team members rather than operating inside a large development department.
Work is documented and coordinated through Basecamp, with an emphasis on visible progress and ownership.
We want developers who can:
Understand → Investigate → Build → Test → Deliver → Document
If something is unfamiliar, research it. If something is broken, investigate it. If you take ownership of a task, take it through to a working result.
We're building additional technical capacity across our PODS and looking for developers who can become dependable long-term contributors.
Developers who demonstrate strong technical ability, communication, and ownership can progress into more complex projects and greater technical or POD responsibilities.
Workplace: Remote
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Availability: Part-time to full-time depending on projects and capability
If you're comfortable doing real development inside WordPress and WooCommerce, we'd like to hear from you.
