Organization: PEN Global (concern of PEN Group)
Position: UX/UI Designer (UX-Focused)
Location: On-Site, Agrabad, Chattogram, Bangladesh
Salary Range: 60,000/- to 70,000/- BDT Per month
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 10pm (Bangladesh Standard Time)
Role Overview
We're hiring a UX/UI Designer who leads with UX. This is a role for someone whose first instinct is to ask, “what is the user actually trying to do here?” before opening Figma — someone who maps flows, questions requirements, cuts unnecessary steps, and can defend every screen with a reason.
You'll work on web and mobile products for our UK-based product and development teams, reporting directly to our Design Lead. Visual polish matters, but we're optimising this hire for structural thinking: information architecture, user flows, interaction logic, and measurable reductions in friction. If you enjoy untangling a messy workflow more than picking the perfect shade of blue, you'll fit well here.
We also expect you to work fast. AI is part of how we design now — you should already be using it to generate, explore, and prototype interfaces at speed, while keeping the thinking, the judgement, and the quality bar firmly your own.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the user flow: Map, question, and simplify end-to-end user journeys — identify where users stall, drop off, or duplicate effort, and redesign the flow rather than decorating it.
- Structure before surface: Turn business and technical requirements into information architecture, task flows, and low-fidelity wireframes before any high-fidelity work begins.
- Research and validate: Run usability tests, heuristic evaluations, and stakeholder interviews; synthesise findings into clear, prioritised, defensible design recommendations.
- Prototype for testing: Build interactive prototypes in Figma that can be tested with real users and handed to developers without ambiguity.
- Cut friction: Reduce interaction cost — fewer clicks, fewer form fields, fewer decisions, clearer states. Track what improved and why.
- Design fast with AI: Use AI tools to move from idea to testable interface fast — generating layout options, first-pass screens, copy variants, and clickable prototypes in hours rather than days — then apply your own judgement to refine, correct, and validate the output.
- Maintain the system: Contribute to and extend our design system and UI guidelines so patterns stay consistent and reusable across products.
- Collaborate closely: Work daily with the Design Lead, product managers, and developers; review implemented builds and give precise, actionable feedback so what ships matches what was designed.
- Design for everyone: Design accessible, inclusive interfaces as a default — not as a final-stage checklist.
Requirements
- Process-first portfolio: A portfolio that shows your thinking, not just your screens — problem framing, flows, iterations, and outcomes. This is essential; applications without a portfolio won't be considered.
- Experience: 3-4 years' proven experience as a UX/UI, UX, or Product Designer.
- UX fundamentals: Comfortable with user flows, wireframing, journey mapping, usability testing, and heuristic evaluation — and able to explain when each is worth doing.
- Tooling: Strong command of Figma (components, auto layout, variables, prototyping).
- AI-assisted design fluency: This is a requirement, not a bonus. You must already be using AI tools in your day-to-day design workflow — for rapid interface generation, prototyping, ideation, copywriting, or research synthesis (e.g. Figma AI, v0, Lovable, Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney, UX Pilot, or similar). Be ready to walk us through your process: what you prompt, what you keep, what you throw away, and how you catch the mistakes AI makes.
- Solid visual baseline: Competent, clean visual execution — you don't need to be a brand designer, but your work should be tidy, consistent, and system-aware.
- Clear reasoning: You can explain a design decision to a developer, a product manager, and a stakeholder — and change your mind when the evidence says so.
- English communication: Confident written and spoken English is essential — you'll communicate with an international team every day.
- Onsite commitment: Able to work on-site in Agrabad, Chattogram, and commit to UK working hours. If you are not already in Chattogram, you must be willing to relocate at your own cost within 30 days of an offer.
Desirable
- Front-end familiarity (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) — enough to understand what's cheap and what's expensive to build.
- Experience with analytics or product-behaviour tools (e.g. GA4, Hotjar, Clarity, Mixpanel).
- Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces: dashboards, portals, admin panels, or internal tools.
- Accessibility knowledge (WCAG) and experience auditing against it.
- Motion or interaction design for meaningful feedback and state transitions.
- Experience designing for content management systems (CMS).
We're an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
