Role Description The Superintending Engineer (Civil) PRL role at BWDB is a contract-based, on-site position located in Bangladesh. The role involves overseeing civil engineering projects related to water resource management, including planning, design, and implementation of infrastructure such as embankments, drainage systems, and stormwater facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising engineering teams, reviewing technical designs and project plans, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders. The Superintending Engineer (Civil) PRL is also expected to monitor project progress, manage budgets and timelines, prepare technical reports, and support decision-making to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable project delivery.
Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering, with the ability to lead complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience working as part of teams of Civil Engineers, including supervision, mentoring, and coordination of technical staff.
• Proficiency in Planning, including project scheduling, resource allocation, and implementation strategies for large-scale civil works.
• Knowledge and practical experience in Stormwater Management, flood control, and drainage system design and maintenance.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution; professional registration or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Familiarity with national and international engineering standards, construction codes, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prepare technical documentation, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in public sector or large infrastructure projects in Bangladesh or similar environments is highly beneficial.
