Role Description

The Student Counselor for New Zealand & Australia will provide personalized guidance to students interested in pursuing higher education in these countries. This full-time, on-site role is based at Step4progress Bangladesh in Badda Thana and involves meeting students, understanding their academic backgrounds, interests, and career goals, and recommending suitable courses and institutions. The counselor will conduct consultations, explain admission requirements, support application preparation, and advise on documentation and timelines. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate student records, responding to inquiries, coordinating with partner institutions or internal teams, and delivering clear information on study options, costs, and procedures. The role also involves participating in information sessions, building strong relationships with students and families, and upholding a high standard of customer service and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills, with experience guiding learners toward appropriate academic and career pathways.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, and the ability to explain complex information in an accessible manner.
• Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a student-centered approach in all interactions.
• Candidates should possess Education-related knowledge, preferably with familiarity with New Zealand and Australian higher education systems, admission processes, and course structures.
• Candidates should ideally have a bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or a related field.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in an office environment, managing multiple cases, and using basic computer applications and online communication tools.
• Prior experience in overseas education consultancy or academic advising, as is proficiency in Bangla and English.
