Student Counsellor

Role Description The Student Counsellor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Student Counsellor will guide prospective students through the entire study abroad journey, including initial consultation, academic profile assessment, and selection of suitable institutions and programs. Daily responsibilities include providing one-on-one counselling, explaining admission requirements, assisting with application forms and documentation, and coordinating timelines for tests, submissions, and visa processes in collaboration with internal teams. The Student Counsellor will communicate regularly with students and families by in-person meetings, phone, email, and messaging, while maintaining up-to-date records in the company’s systems. The role also involves participating in information sessions, workshops, and events, staying current with international education trends and policies, and contributing to continuous improvement of counselling processes and materials.

Qualifications

• Strong student advising and counselling abilities, including active listening, needs assessment, and goal-setting support.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bangla, with clear speaking, writing, and presentation capabilities.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, deadlines, and documentation accurately.
• Customer service mindset with empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills when working with students and families.
• Basic computer proficiency, including office productivity tools and CRM or student management systems.
• Knowledge of study abroad processes, admission requirements, and visa procedures (experience in international education counselling is an advantage).
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field; relevant counselling or guidance certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, adapt to changing policies, and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality.
