Role Description The Structural Steel Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Dhaka, responsible for inspecting structural steel components and assemblies to ensure compliance with applicable standards, drawings, and specifications. This role includes conducting visual inspections, dimensional checks, and verification of welding, bolting, and material quality throughout fabrication and erection stages. The inspector prepares detailed inspection reports, documents nonconformities, and works with engineering, quality assurance, and site teams to resolve issues and support corrective actions. Day-to-day tasks also involve reviewing technical documents, coordinating inspection schedules, monitoring safety and quality practices, and providing clear communication to project stakeholders to help maintain structural integrity and project timelines.
Qualifications

• Technical expertise in structural steel inspection, including knowledge of fabrication, erection methods, welding quality, bolted connections, and relevant codes and standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, structural steel shop drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in preparing inspection reports, documenting findings, and using basic measurement tools and inspection equipment.
• Understanding of construction site safety practices and regulatory compliance related to structural steel works.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and quality assurance teams.
• Relevant technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; professional certifications in inspection or welding (e.g., related local or international credentials) are an advantage.
• Prior experience in structural steel inspection or quality control in construction or engineering projects, preferably within industrial or large infrastructure environments.
• Ability to work on-site in Dhaka, conduct field inspections in varying conditions, and manage time and priorities across multiple project activities.
