The Sr. Executive – Production (Injection Molding) will supervise and manage injection molding operations to achieve planned production targets for battery jars, covers, and related plastic components while maintaining quality, cost, safety, and delivery standards. The role will be responsible for process control, machine and mold readiness, manpower deployment, defect reduction, material utilization, production reporting, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement machine-wise and shift-wise production targets and schedules.
- Allocate machines, molds, materials, and manpower based on production priorities and capacity.
- Monitor hourly production output and take corrective action for shortfalls.
- Manage product changeovers and ensure effective shift handovers.
- Monitor injection molding parameters including temperature, pressure, speed, cooling, and cycle time.
- Ensure proper machine setup, mold installation, trial approval, and start-up verification.
- Maintain process sheets and ensure approved operating parameters are followed.
- Identify and resolve injection molding process abnormalities.
- Ensure molded products meet dimensional, visual, weight, and fitment requirements.
- Monitor and reduce defects such as short shot, flash, warpage, sink marks, burn marks, and contamination.
- Coordinate first-piece and in-process inspections with the Quality team.
- Analyze rejection trends and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate mold cleaning, preventive maintenance, repair, and trial activities.
- Monitor machine, mold, dryer, chiller, compressor, and utility conditions.
- Ensure proper handling, drying, mixing, identification, and usage of plastic materials.
- Control masterbatch and regrind usage according to approved specifications.
- Monitor material yield, scrap, runner waste, rejection, and process losses.
- Monitor cycle time, machine availability, downtime, breakdowns, and OEE.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain accurate downtime and production records.
- Ensure machine guarding, PPE, lockout/tagout, safe mold handling, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain 5S, cleanliness, material organization, and safe working conditions.
- Prepare production, rejection, downtime, material, manpower, and shift-performance reports.
- Analyze production data and recurring losses using root-cause analysis.
- Support productivity improvement, automation, production trials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise injection molding operators, helpers, and assigned production personnel.
- Coach team members on process control, quality, safety, 5S, and equipment care.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial & Production, Polymer, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Training in injection molding technology, plastics processing, quality tools, or lean manufacturing will be preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years
