Software Engineer - Backend

AXENOVA FINTECH PRIVATE LIMITED is looking for a Software Engineer — Backend to join our engineering team and work on scalable, production-grade applications and distributed systems.

This role is ideal for a backend engineer who has strong experience with PHP/Laravel and Node.js, understands modern backend architecture, and has hands-on experience building e-commerce or high-scale web applications.

Languages & Frameworks

• PHP and Laravel 13.x
• Node.js, Nest JS, Express JS
• Socket programming

You should be comfortable designing APIs, implementing business logic, and building maintainable backend services using modern development practices.

Databases (One or more of the following)

• PostgreSQL
• MySQL
• MongoDB

A solid understanding of database design, relationships, indexing, query optimization, and performance is expected.

Backend & Infrastructure (You should be comfortable working with)

• Docker
• Git
• RabbitMQ
• Redis
• Meilisearch
• REST APIs
• gRPC (optional but experience is a plus)

You should also have a practical understanding of caching, queues, asynchronous processing, API communication, and background jobs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with PHP/Laravel and Node.js
• Proven experience building or maintaining e-commerce platforms
• Practical experience with microservice architecture
• Good understanding of event-driven and asynchronous systems
• Strong knowledge of API design, databases, caching, queues, and distributed systems
• Understanding of performance optimization and scalable backend architecture
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

• Inventory Management

• Procurement & Fulfillment
• Logistics Platforms

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Laravel and Node.js
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and event-driven workflows
• Develop complex e-commerce business logic and integrations
• Work with messaging, caching, search, and real-time communication systems
• Optimize application and database performance
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions
