Social Media & Marketing Volunteer

The Social Media Volunteer will work as part of the Communications Team and collaborate closely with the wider Global Language Bridge (GLB) team. Global Language Bridge is a growing non-profit organisation working with local partners in Bangladesh to provide English-language education to marginalised children. Through its partner schools and organisations, GLB currently supports more than 350 students across four locations through weekly English classes.

The Social Media Intern will support GLB’s digital communications, helping communicate the organisation’s activities, educational programmes, partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and opportunities for involvement. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in managing GLB’s social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and other relevant digital platforms.
• Plan and schedule social media content in coordination with GLB’s activities, campaigns, fundraising initiatives, recruitment needs, events, and organisational priorities.
• Prepare first drafts of social media posts and captions for review by the Communications Team.
• Support the development of multimedia content, including graphics, short videos, stories, infographics, and other visual materials.
• Work with team members in Bangladesh and Europe to collect information, photographs, updates, and stories from GLB’s classes and activities.
• Support communications around GLB’s educational programmes, partnerships with local organisations, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising campaigns.
• Help maintain a consistent visual identity, tone, and messaging across GLB’s digital platforms.
• Monitor social media activity and identify relevant trends, formats, and opportunities that could strengthen GLB’s digital presence.
• Track basic social media performance indicators, including reach, engagement, audience growth, and campaign performance.
• Contribute ideas for improving GLB’s communications strategy and increasing engagement with students, volunteers, partners, supporters, and potential donors.
• Support updates to GLB’s website and other digital communication materials when required.
• Perform other communications-related tasks as needed to support the work and development of Global Language Bridge.
• Working time: Approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility in how these hours are distributed according to the team’s activities and communication needs.
