Senior Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Cox’s Bazar, responsible for overseeing all surveying activities on construction and infrastructure projects. Daily tasks include planning and executing topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys, setting out alignments, levels, and control points, and verifying design drawings against site conditions. The Senior Surveyor will manage survey teams, coordinate with project engineers and site managers, and ensure accurate data collection using total stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments. The role involves preparing survey reports, maintaining records, checking as-built measurements, and supporting quality assurance and compliance with project specifications. The Senior Surveyor will also train junior survey staff, monitor equipment calibration, and contribute to safe and efficient field operations.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in land and engineering surveying practices, including topographic surveys, construction setting out, and as-built measurements.
• Hands-on experience with surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, automatic levels, and related data collection tools.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and technical specifications, and translate them into accurate field layouts.
• Competence in survey data processing and use of relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design and drafting tools).
• Demonstrated skills in supervising survey teams, coordinating with multidisciplinary project stakeholders, and maintaining clear documentation.
• Sound understanding of construction site safety practices and quality control standards related to surveying activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication skills in spoken and written English; local language proficiency in Cox’s Bazar area is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site under varying field conditions, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field; professional certification or registration is a plus.
• Previous experience in senior or lead surveyor roles on large infrastructure
