Job Overview

WEBOZZA is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience building scalable applications, and the ability to take technical ownership of complex projects.

You will work closely with developers, UI/UX designers, project managers, QA engineers, and other team members to design, develop, test, and deliver reliable software solutions for local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications.
• Take technical ownership of projects from planning through production deployment.
• Develop high-quality web applications, APIs, backend systems, and business applications.
• Design clean, scalable, and maintainable software architecture.
• Translate business and project requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Review code and maintain development standards across projects.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement security, performance, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers, QA engineers, and project managers.
• Participate in technical planning, architecture decisions, and project estimation.
• Use Git and maintain proper version-control workflows.
• Support deployment, production monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance when required.
• Continuously evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to our development processes.

Technical Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to work across both frontend and backend development.
• Comfortable working with different programming languages, frameworks, and technology stacks based on project requirements.
• Ability to quickly understand, adapt to, and work with unfamiliar technologies rather than being limited to a single programming language or framework.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend development, backend architecture, APIs, databases, authentication, and application security.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and database-driven applications.
• Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases and database architecture.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and clean-code principles.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code.

AI Proficiency

• Strong ability to use modern AI-assisted development tools effectively to improve development speed, research, debugging, documentation, and overall productivity.
• Good prompt engineering skills, with the ability to provide clear technical context, requirements, constraints, and instructions to AI tools to generate accurate and useful outputs.
• Ability to critically review, validate, debug, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on AI-generated outputs without proper technical verification.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, DigitalOcean, or similar cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows.
• Experience building SaaS platforms, ERP/CRM systems, eCommerce solutions, or complex web applications.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Experience with automated testing and test-driven development.
• Knowledge of Redis, queues, background jobs, WebSockets, and real-time applications.
• Experience working with international software projects and clients.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
