Position: Senior Officer, Inquiry, Safeguarding & Grievance Management

Job Location: Head Office

We are looking for a proactive Senior Officer, Inquiry who will ensure the fair, objective, and efficient resolution of complaints by conducting thorough inquiries in line with organisational policies, legal standards, and ethical guidelines. The role will focus on establishing facts through evidence collection, stakeholder interviews, and policy analysis, while maintaining confidentiality, due process, and procedural integrity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse the assigned complaint letter to assess potential risks and identify key issues requiring investigation.
  • Develop a comprehensive inquiry plan by creating a detailed checklist, preparing targeted questionnaires, and compiling a probable list of interviewees and relevant documents or evidence.
  • Engage with the respective person/management to request and secure necessary support and cooperation throughout the inquiry process.
  • Initiate the inquiry in alignment with the established inquiry procedures, guidelines, SOPs, HRPP, and all associated policies, while ensuring strict confidentiality.
  • Interview involved individuals and key witnesses, and document all testimonies with written records, ensuring proper signatures and dates from both parties to uphold procedural integrity.
  • Gather and verify all relevant witness statements, evidence, and documents to maintain objectivity and support factual conclusions.
  • Draft a preliminary inquiry report and submit it to the review team for analysis and scheduling of a review hearing session.
  • Prepare a show cause notice based on the inquiry findings and support the review team in issuing the show cause letter or review hearing notice to the subject of the complaint, thereby upholding the individual’s right to a fair hearing.
  • Compile and submit the final inquiry report to the respective Manager within the stipulated timeline, ensuring it meets required quality standards for presentation to the SGMC forum.
  • Participate in the SGMC forum to present the inquiry findings and related evidence/documents effectively, enabling forum members to make informed decisions.
  • Contribute to the Ombudsperson’s hearing by providing detailed inquiry insights and playing an active role in ensuring a fair and successful resolution.


Additional Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
  • Skilled in transcribing with Bijoy/Avro software.
  • Understanding on Safeguarding, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse (PSHEA) standards.
  • Knowledgeable about Bangladesh labor law and related regulations.
  • Ability to travel anywhere in Bangladesh.


Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.


Educational Requirements: Master’s degree from a recognised university/institution with a major in Finance, Accounting, Law or any relevant discipline.


Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years of work experience in a relevant field, with required experience in Finance, Accounts, or Audit.
