Researcher cum Asset Manager
Company: Rarang Communications
Location: Dhaka
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Content & Production
About Us
Dinduniya is a bite-sized, multimedia-focused media company creating fast-paced, visually driven short-form content — spanning history, culture, current affairs, and human-interest stories — for digital audiences across platforms. We turn deep research into punchy, engaging storytelling, and we're looking for someone who can be the backbone of both our research accuracy and our visual asset library.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Researcher cum Asset Manager who can wear two hats with equal precision: digging up accurate, well-sourced information to power our scripts, and building/maintaining an organized library of visuals, footage, and audio assets that bring those scripts to life. This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable buried in archival texts and organizing a digital asset folder structure that the whole production team can rely on.
Key Responsibilities
A. Research
- Conduct in-depth research on assigned topics (history, culture, religion, current affairs, etc.) from credible primary and secondary sources
- Fact-check scripts line by line before production, flagging any unverified or disputed claims
- Compile properly organized reference/citation lists for each script or episode
- Work closely with scriptwriters and producers to ensure narrative accuracy without compromising storytelling flow
- Maintain a searchable archive of research notes, sources, and citations for past and ongoing projects
- Track trending and relevant topics aligned with the brand's content pillars
B. Asset Management
- Source, curate, and organize visual and audio assets — images, stock/archival footage, music, sound effects
- Build and maintain a tagged, searchable Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for quick retrieval by the production team
- Verify copyright and licensing status of every asset used; ensure full compliance with copyright and fair-use guidelines
- Liaise with stock media platforms, illustrators, archives, and rights holders to source licensed content
- Maintain a log of asset usage rights, license expiry dates, and renewal requirements
- Deliver ready-to-use, correctly licensed assets to the production team within tight turnaround times
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in research, content curation, journalism, or digital asset management (strong freshers with excellent research skills are encouraged to apply)
- Excellent research, fact-checking, and source-verification skills
- Strong command of both Bangla and English (written and spoken)
- Working knowledge of copyright, fair use, and stock-media licensing practices
- Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational habits
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced content environment
- Basic understanding of video/audio production workflows is a plus
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- Familiarity with stock platforms (Adobe Stock, Envato, Storyblocks, Shutterstock, etc.)
- Genuine interest in history, culture, religion, or social storytelling
- Prior experience working with a digital media, documentary, or YouTube-style production team
What We Offer
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
- Totally subsidized meals and snacks.
- A collaborative, creative newsroom-style environment
- Direct role in shaping how complex stories get told to a mass digital audience
- Room to grow into senior research/content or production roles
