Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced and capable Project Manager to lead and manage Government and high-volume construction projects anywhere in Bangladesh.

Project Manager – Civil Construction

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Relevant professional certification/registration will be an advantage.

• 7–8 years of relevant professional experience in civil construction.
• Strong experience in Government Projects in Bangladesh is required.
• Candidates with experience in high-volume / large-scale construction projects will be preferred.
• Experience in Road Construction, Building Construction, Finishing Works and Ornamental/Architectural Building Projects is highly desirable.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, management, coordination and successful completion of the project, including but not limited to:

• Overall management and supervision of construction project activities.
• Manage project execution as per Contract Agreement, BOQ, Specifications, Drawings, Work Program and Government requirements.
• Plan and control project schedule, resources, manpower, materials, equipment and productivity.
• Coordinate with Project Director, Engineer/Consultant, Government Officials, LGED/RHD/other concerned authorities and Head Office.
• Ensure proper execution of Road, Building, Structural, Architectural, Finishing and External Development Works.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQ and construction methodology and resolve site-related technical issues.
• Monitor quality, progress, cost and productivity of all construction activities.
• Ensure proper implementation of QA/QC and HSE requirements at site.
• Lead Site Engineers, Supervisors, Subcontractors, Foremen and other site personnel.
• Coordinate procurement, material mobilization and ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Prepare and monitor Work Program, Progress Reports, Look-Ahead Plans and Recovery Plans.
• Monitor project quantities, measurements, billing and variation works in coordination with QS/Planning team.
• Manage Government project documentation, correspondence, approvals, inspections and certifications.
• Coordinate IPC/Bill preparation, measurement, variation, extra items, claims and contractual matters.
• Identify project risks, delays and constraints and take corrective actions.
• Maintain proper records of site instructions, approvals, drawings, RFI, test reports, measurements and correspondence.
• Ensure works are completed according to approved method statements, drawings and specifications.
• Closely monitor finishing works including tiles, doors & windows, painting, false ceiling, sanitary, plumbing, external works and architectural/ornamental works.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate with all project stakeholders.
• Ensure timely completion of testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification and project handover.
• Take full responsibility for achieving project Time, Cost, Quality and Safety targets.
• Perform any other responsibilities necessary for the successful completion of the project.

• Strong leadership and team management capability.
• Excellent knowledge of Government Construction Projects in Bangladesh.
• Strong understanding of BOQ, Specifications, Drawings, Contract Documents and Measurement.
• Good knowledge of Planning, Scheduling, Quantity Control and Cost Control.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple construction activities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, MS Excel and construction documentation will be preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and take responsibility for project delivery.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have personally managed large Government construction projects from mobilization through completion and handover, and who can independently lead the project team and coordinate with Consultants, Government authorities and subcontractors.
