The selected candidates will be responsible for accurate and hygienic blood sample collection, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high-quality laboratory standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients for diagnostic and GCC medical check-up purposes following standard protocols.
- Identify patients correctly and label specimens accurately to avoid errors.
- Handle and store collected samples properly for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards during and after phlebotomy procedures.
- Assist in collecting other biological samples (urine, stool, sputum, etc.) when required.
- Prepare collection kits, manage stock of needles, syringes, and tubes.
- Ensure patient comfort, particularly when dealing with children, elderly, or anxious individuals.
- Support the laboratory technologist and medical officers in daily operations.
- Maintain records of sample collections and coordinate with reception and lab teams.
- Follow all safety procedures and hospital policies strictly.
- Experience: At least 2 years
- Education: diploma in medical laboratory technology
- Skills: phlebotomists, phlebotomy, laboratory skills (bloodwork, diagnostics), laboratory skills, laboratory technicians, clinical pathology, laboratory medicine, laboratory management, medical technologist, specimen collection
