Performance / Load Test Engineer

 

Overview
We are seeking a Performance / Load Test Engineer to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our applications across web, mobile, and API platforms. This role is responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests using NeoLoad as the primary tool, with additional support for Apache JMeter where applicable. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of performance engineering principles, hands-on experience with load testing tools, and the ability to collaborate with development, infrastructure, and database teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality, high performing applications that meet business and user expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Performance Test Planning & Strategy

• Define performance testing strategy, scope, and approach based on business
  requirements and system architecture.
• Identify key performance metrics (response time, throughput, concurrency,
  resource utilization, etc.).
• Develop test plans aligned with expected user loads, peak traffic scenarios, and
  SLAs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define performance acceptance criteria.

Test Design & Execution

• Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts using NeoLoad (primary
  tool).
• Execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability testing.
• Utilize Apache JMeter for supplemental or legacy performance testing scenarios.
• Parameterize test data and correlate dynamic values to simulate realistic user
  behavior.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

• Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks across application,
  infrastructure, and database layers.
• Monitor system performance using tools such as APM solutions, logs, and
  infrastructure monitoring dashboards.
• Work closely with developers, DBAs, and DevOps teams to troubleshoot and
  resolve performance issues.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve application performance and
  scalability.

Environment & Data Management

• Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure test environments are properly
  configured and stable.
•  Validate test environment readiness, including data setup and system
  dependencies.
• Simulate production-like conditions for accurate performance testing.

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare clear, concise performance test reports including findings, trends, risks,
  and recommendations.
• Communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide performance insights to support release readiness decisions.

Continuous Improvement & Best Practices

• Contribute to the development and standardization of performance testing
  practices and frameworks.
• Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and trends in performance
  engineering.
• Support shift-left performance testing practices and early performance validation.
