Role Description The North America Counselor | Uttara Branch is a full-time, on-site role responsible for guiding prospective students through the process of applying to educational institutions in North America. The counselor will meet with students and families, assess academic and career goals, and recommend suitable programs, institutions, and pathways. Daily tasks include providing information on admission requirements, application processes, scholarships, and visa procedures, as well as supporting students in preparing documentation and meeting deadlines. The role involves maintaining accurate records in internal systems, following up with students to track progress, and coordinating with colleagues and global offices to ensure smooth application processing. The counselor will also participate in information sessions, events, and outreach activities at the Uttara branch to promote IDP’s services and strengthen relationships with schools, universities, and community partners.
Qualifications

• Ability to provide structured academic and career counseling, including assessing student profiles and recommending suitable North American institutions and programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage respectfully with diverse students, families, and stakeholders, both in-person and via phone, email, and online channels.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, meet application deadlines, and maintain accurate records in CRM or similar systems.
• Knowledge of North American higher education systems, admission requirements, standardized tests, and visa procedures, or a strong willingness and capacity to learn.
• Customer service orientation, with the ability to address queries, resolve concerns, and provide clear, empathetic guidance throughout the application journey.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills relevant to local students are an advantage.
• Comfort with using digital tools and platforms for counseling, documentation, reporting, and communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Education, Counseling, Business, or Social Sciences) and prior experience in student counseling, education services, or related areas is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment at the Uttara branch and align with IDP’s ethical standards and inclusion policies.
