Role Description This is a mid-level Android Developer role based hybrid in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Android Developer will maintain Bongo’s Android applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and a seamless streaming experience for users. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing existing code, integrating backend APIs, and collaborating with product, design, and QA teams to deliver user-centric updates. The role involves troubleshooting issues, participating in code reviews, and contributing to the continuous improvement of app architecture and development practices. The Android Developer will also help ensure that Bongo’s applications scale effectively to support growing traffic across diverse devices and network conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Android development, including experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, and modern app architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating backend services into Android applications.
• Skill in using Android development tools and libraries such as Android Studio, Gradle, Jetpack components, and common third-party libraries (e.g., Retrofit, Glide).
• Knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, offline caching, and handling different device configurations and screen sizes.
• Understanding of version control tools (e.g., Git), collaborative development workflows, and code review practices.
• Background in building media or streaming apps, or experience with video players, DRM, or analytics SDKs is a plus.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code; experience with unit testing or UI testing frameworks is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfortable working in an on-site setting in Dhaka and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
