The company owns and operates a state-of-the-art 1,320 MW (2×660 MW) Coal-Fired Supercritical Thermal Power Plant located in Banskhali, Chattogram. Position Summary
The Managing Director (MD) will serve as the chief executive leader of the company and will be responsible for providing strategic direction, operational excellence, project oversight, stakeholder engagement, and overall business leadership. The incumbent will lead large-scale power generation operations, guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive long-term organizational growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the company's strategic vision, business objectives, and growth initiatives.
- Lead corporate planning and decision-making processes to ensure organizational success.
- Maintain strong relationships with shareholders, government agencies, regulatory authorities, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Operational Management
- Oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the 1,320 MW supercritical thermal power plant.
- Ensure compliance with national and international operational, environmental, and safety standards.
- Drive operational excellence through performance monitoring, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project & Commercial Management
- Lead large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects from planning through execution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, contracts, procurement activities, and commercial performance.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure timely delivery.
Stakeholder & Government Relations
- Represent the company at board meetings, government forums, regulatory bodies, and industry platforms.
- Foster strong relationships with local and international partners, investors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with all relevant authorities.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor senior management teams and project professionals.
- Build a high-performance organizational culture focused on accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Manage multicultural and multinational project teams effectively.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
- Additional professional qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines will be considered an advantage.
Experience & Professional Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience in power generation, energy, infrastructure, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Minimum 15 years in senior managerial, project management, or leadership positions.
- Extensive experience in the development, execution, and operation of large-scale thermal power projects.
- Proven experience in coal-fired thermal power projects of 1,000 MW or above will be highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in supercritical and/or ultra-supercritical thermal power plants.
- Strong expertise in project planning, operations management, commercial management, stakeholder engagement, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in multinational and multicultural working environments.
- Previous experience as Managing Director, CEO, Director, General Manager, Project Director, Project Manager, or an equivalent senior leadership role will be highly advantageous.
Language Requirement
✅ HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Level 5 Certification is Mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
Monthly Compensation Package
Approximately BDT 20,00,000 per month
- Basic Salary (85%): Approx. BDT 17,00,000
- Other Allowances (15%): Approx. BDT 3,00,000
Additional benefits and executive facilities will be offered in accordance with company policy.
