- Lead and manage the Fabric Sample Development team to ensure timely and accurate sample execution.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Knitting, Dyeing, Finishing, Quality and Production teams for sample development.
- Develop and maintain fabric samples according to buyer requirements, specifications and approved standards.
- Ensure proper fabric construction, GSM, composition, color, shrinkage, hand feel and other required parameters.
- Follow up on fabric development, lab dips, strike-offs, test reports and approvals.
- Analyze buyer tech packs, specifications and sample requirements and ensure proper execution.
- Maintain sample development schedules and ensure timely submission to buyers/merchandising teams.
- Identify technical issues during development and take necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of fabric samples and approvals.
- Monitor sample quality and minimize rework, rejection and development delays.
- Guide and develop team members and ensure effective coordination among relevant departments.
- Handle buyer-specific requirements and support the merchandising team in achieving sample approval within the required timeline.
- Experience: 8 years
- Education: bachelor of science in textile engineering (te)
- Skills: technical knowledge of garment production, fabric development, textile testing, textile industry knowledge, fabric sourcing, garment industry knowledge, textile knowledge, textile design, textile inspection, fabric finishing
