About the Role

We are looking for a highly creative and commercially driven Lingerie Designer to join our growing design team, working primarily on Primark & Waikiki ranges. This role focuses on developing trend-led, affordable underwear collections with a strong emphasis on prints, graphics, and high-volume retail appeal.

You will be responsible for translating market trends into wearable, cost-effective designs that resonate with a broad customer base while maintaining Primark’s value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal lingerie and underwear ranges, with a strong focus on printed styles
• Create original print concepts, repeats, and placement graphics aligned with current trends and customer preferences
• Conduct in-depth market research, including competitor analysis and trend forecasting (catwalk, social media, retail)
• Translate trends into commercially viable products suitable for high-street, high-volume production
• Work closely with buyers, merchandisers, and suppliers to ensure designs meet cost, margin, and timeline requirements
• Develop detailed tech packs, including construction, fabric, trims, and print specifications
• Participate in fit sessions and collaborate with technical teams to ensure product quality and consistency
• Maintain awareness of fabric innovations, sustainability practices, and manufacturing capabilities
• Support range building, ensuring cohesive collections across bras, briefs, loungewear, and multipacks
• Adapt designs based on sales data, customer feedback, and performance insights

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in lingerie or underwear design, ideally within a high-street or value retail environment
• Strong print design skills, including repeats, colorways, and placement artwork
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop essential)
• Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fit specific to lingerie
• Experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturers
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to design for a mass-market customer
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Desirable Skills

• Experience designing for Primark or similar large-scale retailers
• 3D design capability (e.g., CLO3D, Browzwear, or similar software)
• Understanding of sustainable materials and ethical sourcing practices
• Knowledge of licensing and branded print development
• Trend forecasting experience or familiarity with WGSN or similar platforms
