Lighting Designer (Architecture Background)

About the role :

At Hondel Lighting, we bridge architectural vision and technical lighting precision. We are looking for a creative and passionate Architect / Lighting Designer to join our design team.

In this role, you will develop lighting concepts, calculate illumination levels, produce presentation visuals, and help bring facade, interior, and landscape lighting projects to life. If you have an eye for spatial design, materials, and form, and want to build a career in specialized architectural lighting design, we’d love to hear from you.

What you will do?

• Develop creative architectural lighting concepts for facade, landscape, and interior environments.
• Translate client briefs and architectural blueprints into compelling lighting schemes and fixture layouts.
• Prepare design presentation decks, photometric layouts, fixture schedules, and technical documentation.
• Conduct lighting simulations and calculations to ensure projects meet aesthetic goals and international standards.
• Coordinate with project architects, interior designers, engineers, and site execution teams during design development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or a closely related spatial design field.
• A strong aesthetic eye, spatial awareness, and a keen interest in how light interacts with architectural surfaces.
• Proficiency in core architectural software (AutoCAD, SketchUp/Revit, Photoshop, etc.).
• Basic understanding of architectural lighting concepts, color temperature, beam angles, and fixture types is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills & Training Offer

DIALux / DIALux evo Experience: Prior experience in DIALux or similar calculation software is highly preferred.

If you have a solid architectural foundation and a passion for lighting but have never used DIALux, we will provide hands-on, comprehensive training to get you up to speed with industry-standard lighting calculations and simulation workflows.
