Lead Full Stack Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Full-Stack Developer to serve as the technical backbone of our founding engineering team. You will own the complete technology lifecycle: architecting systems from the ground up, building full-stack web applications, configuring and securing servers, managing hosting and deployment infrastructure, and setting the engineering standards the rest of the team will follow. This is a hands-on leadership role - you will write production code while also making the architectural and infrastructure decisions that determine how our products scale, perform, and stay secure. The ideal candidate has taken multiple products from concept to production and is equally comfortable designing a database schema, hardening a Linux server, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end system architectures for web applications, including application layers, database design, API contracts, caching strategies, and integration points.
• Design systems for scalability, fault tolerance, and maintainability, anticipating growth in users and data volume.
• Produce architecture diagrams and technical design documents that clients and team members can understand.
• Develop and maintain production-grade web applications across the front-end (React or equivalent) and back-end (Node.js, Django, Laravel, or equivalent).
• Design and optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL): schema design, indexing, query tuning, migrations, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Build and document RESTful APIs and third-party integrations (payment gateways, SMS/email services, government/enterprise systems).
• Establish and enforce coding standards, Git workflows, and code review practices across the team.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu/Debian) on VPS or cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean, or local providers).
• Configure web servers and reverse proxies (Nginx/Apache), SSL/TLS certificates, firewalls (UFW/iptables), and SSH hardening.
• Implement application and infrastructure security best practices: OWASP Top 10 mitigation, secure authentication/authorization, data encryption at rest and in transit, and secrets management.
• Set up automated, tested backup and disaster-recovery procedures, and periodically verify restores.
• Monitor server health, logs, and uptime; respond to and conduct root-cause analysis of production incidents.
• Own the hosting strategy: domain/DNS management, environment separation (dev/staging/production), and cost-efficient infrastructure choices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) for automated testing and zero-downtime deployments.
• Containerize applications with Docker where appropriate and manage environment configuration.
• Plan capacity and performance: load handling, caching (Redis or similar), and CDN usage.
• Mentor and technically supervise mid-level and junior developers; conduct code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Translate business requirements and PRDs into technical specifications, task breakdowns, and delivery estimates.
• Advise founders on technical feasibility, risks, and resourcing during pre-sales and proposal stages.
• Maintain technical documentation: architecture records, deployment runbooks, and onboarding guides.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 7–8 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven track record of designing and shipping at least two production systems end-to-end (from architecture to deployment and maintenance).
• Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js) and/or Python (Django)- with working ability across both front-end and back-end.
• Strong command of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including performance tuning and backup/restore operations.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience configuring and securing Linux servers in production (candidates will be asked to walk through a real server setup they performed).
• Practical knowledge of web application security (OWASP Top 10), SSL/TLS, and secure deployment practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker in production environments.
• Strong written documentation skills - able to produce architecture documents, runbooks, and client-facing technical explanations.
• Fluent communication in Bangla and professional working proficiency in English.
• Experience delivering software for government, trade, financial, or other regulated/enterprise clients.
• Familiarity with cloud-managed services (AWS RDS, S3, CloudFront) and infrastructure-as-code basics.
• Exposure to load testing, application performance monitoring (APM), and log aggregation tools.
• Experience integrating with local payment gateways (SSLCommerz, bKash) and SMS providers. (Nice to have)
• Prior experience as an early or founding engineer at a startup. (Nice to have)
