Junior Flight Dispatch Officer (Executive)

US-Bangla Airlines is the largest private passenger airline in Bangladesh. Launched in July 2014 from its Dhaka hub, the carrier operates an extensive and growing network of domestic and international destinations across Asia and the Middle East.

The role is intended as an entry-level position, providing practical exposure and experience toward becoming a qualified Flight Dispatcher, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and company licensing/authorization.

Progression to Flight Dispatch Officer should be linked to completion of the airline's approved training, regulatory examinations and OJT.

Primary duties:

1. Flight Planning & Dispatch Support

• Assist in preparing and reviewing daily flight plans under the supervision of a qualified Flight Dispatcher.
• Collect and verify aircraft, route, airport and operational information required for flight planning.
• Assist with fuel planning, payload information, alternate airport selection and route analysis.
• Review flight plans for completeness and identify discrepancies for escalation.
• Assist in preparing operational flight documentation and dispatch packages.
• Support changes to flight plans resulting from weather, ATC restrictions, aircraft changes or operational disruptions.

2. Weather & NOTAM Monitoring

• Monitor METAR, TAF, SIGMET and other relevant aviation weather information.
• Review NOTAMs and identify operationally significant restrictions or airport/route closures.
• Monitor weather developments affecting departure, destination and alternate airports.
• Immediately escalate significant weather or operational concerns to the Flight Dispatcher/Supervisor.

3. Flight Monitoring

• Monitor assigned flights during operations using the airline's flight-following/dispatch systems.
• Track aircraft departure, en-route progress, arrival and operational status.
• Identify delays, diversions, route changes or other irregularities.
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate relevant information to the appropriate departments.

4. Operational Coordination

• Coordinate with Flight Dispatchers, Pilots, OCC, Flight Operations, Maintenance Control, Ground Operations, Airport Operations and other relevant teams.
• Assist in communicating operational updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Support coordination during delays, diversions, technical issues, adverse weather and other operational disruptions.
• Maintain effective communication during time-critical operational situations.

5. Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure dispatch records and operational documents are accurately maintained.
• Follow airline Flight Operations manuals, dispatch procedures, safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with preparation of reports relating to delays, diversions, flight disruptions and other operational events.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of operational information.

6. Shift Operations

• Work on a 24/7 roster covering day, night, weekend and public-holiday operations.
• Conduct proper handover to the incoming shift.
• Maintain a clear log of outstanding operational matters.
• Respond promptly to operational changes and escalation requirements.

• Excellent IT skills: must be expert with the use of MS Excel and quickly adaptable to the use of new tools for flight operations, fuel calculation, flight planning etc.

Specification:

Qualifications/Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management/Aeronautical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering/EEE/ETE/CSE/Mechanical Engineering with a min CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
• The candidate must have Mathematics and Physics in HSC or GCE A Level

Experience:

• 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar role. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with aviation training or an internship in Flight Operations, OCC, Ground Operations or Flight Dispatch may receive preference.

Skills/knowledge:

• Excellent language capacity in English.
• Working knowledge of international aviation law.
• Familiarity with aviation weather, NOTAMs, flight planning and aircraft operations.
• Excellent stakeholder relations/building communication skills.
• Strong analytical/problem solving abilities.
