Role Description This is a full-time Journalist role based in Dhaka with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work from home as appropriate. The Journalist will research and report on newsworthy events, develop story ideas, conduct interviews, verify facts, and write clear, compelling news articles and features for digital publication. Daily responsibilities include monitoring local and national developments, attending press conferences, collaborating with editors, and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards. The role may also involve preparing press releases, supporting broadcasting segments, and adapting content for multiple platforms and formats. The Journalist will work closely with the newsroom team to ensure balanced coverage and uphold ethical journalism practices.

Qualifications

• Strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging stories under deadline.
• Experience with Research and fact-checking to gather information from diverse sources and ensure credibility.
• Ability to prepare and interpret Press Releases, including turning announcements into newsworthy coverage.
• Exposure to Broadcasting or multimedia storytelling, such as on-camera reporting, audio segments, or video scripts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Excellent command of English and Bangla, with strong interviewing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with digital news platforms, social media, and basic content management systems.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical journalism, impartial reporting, and respect for diverse communities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom, including flexible hours when news breaks.
