Since 1996, AmCham Bangladesh has worked to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Bangladesh and the United States. As the only country chapter and unilateral chamber in Bangladesh with full membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, AmCham occupies a distinctive position at the intersection of business, policy, investment, and international engagement. Working closely with our members, the U.S. Embassy, government institutions, policymakers, regulators, development partners, think tanks, and other stakeholders, we seek to contribute to a more competitive and investment-friendly business environment while supporting deeper U.S.–Bangladesh commercial relations. Our members represent a diverse range of sectors, including Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Financial Services, FMCG, Healthcare, ICT, Infrastructure, and Logistics.

The Role

This is a substantive role for a professional who enjoys working across policy advocacy, research, institutional relations, and stakeholder engagement.

The selected professional will work closely with AmCham leadership and members to:

• Lead research, surveys, policy papers, and evidence-based publications supporting AmCham’s advocacy priorities.

• Prepare policy briefs, talking points, background notes, and leadership briefings for high-level engagements.

• Coordinate institutional relationships with BIDA, NBR, ministries, regulators, research institutions, think tanks, development partners, and diplomatic missions.

• Draft policy submissions and institutional correspondence while maintaining a structured advocacy and follow-up tracker.

• Coordinate AmCham Subcommittees, including agendas, meetings, minutes, action plans, and policy recommendations.

• Contribute to AmCham’s annual events and policy engagement calendar, including themes, agendas, program flows, invitations, and substantive content.

• Support AmCham’s external positioning through press releases, website and social media content, the AmCham Journal, News Bulletin, and other publications.

• Strengthen institutional continuity through effective knowledge management and documentation.

What We Are Looking For

The role requires a combination of intellectual strength, maturity, judgment, and execution capability.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in policy and professional writing

• Strong research, analytical, and policy interpretation capabilities

• Confidence in engaging with senior corporate, government, diplomatic, and institutional stakeholders

• Excellent planning, coordination, prioritization, follow-up, and attention to detail

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital research, productivity platforms, and relevant AI tools

• Professional judgment, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality

• A proactive mindset with initiative, ownership, adaptability, creativity, and intellectual curiosity

Academic Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Business Administration from a reputed university, with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or equivalent. A relevant Master’s degree will be an advantage.

Experience: 6–10 years of relevant professional experience.
