Role Description: The IELTS Speaking Assessor is a part-time, remote-based role. The assessor will conduct formal IELTS-style speaking interviews, evaluate candidate performance against standardized criteria, and assign scores in line with test guidelines. Daily tasks include preparing assessment materials, maintaining accurate records, and providing clear, constructive feedback to learners to support their improvement. The role also involves collaborating with trainers to align speaking assessment with overall course objectives, participating in quality assurance activities, and attending periodic training to stay current with IELTS standards. The assessor is expected to maintain professional integrity, uphold confidentiality, and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong command of English, with excellent speaking, listening, and comprehension skills.
• Official IELTS overall score of 7.5+ (if non-native speaker).
• Prior experience in language assessment, teaching English, or exam preparation (IELTS, TOEFL, or similar) is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with IELTS band descriptors and standardized assessment methodologies.
• A degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to provide clear, unbiased feedback and maintain consistent scoring standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively with diverse learners.
• Attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and ongoing training and development.
