Head of IT Infrastructure

Job Scope

The Head of Infrastructure, Cloud & Intelligent Operations leads MetLife Bangladesh's technology infrastructure strategy, operations and transformation agenda. This role is accountable for building a high-performing engineering culture while modernizing infrastructure through cloud adoption, automation, AI-driven operations and platform engineering practices.

The incumbent is responsible for infrastructure reliability, cyber resilience, technology modernization, budget governance, FinOps optimization, vendor management, and talent development. The role partners with business and technology leaders to deliver secure, scalable and cost-effective infrastructure services that accelerate business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership, Culture & Team Transformation

• Build, lead and inspire a high-performing infrastructure organization focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Drive workforce transformation through adoption of cloud, automation, AI, DevOps, SRE and modern engineering practices.
• Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and technical capability building.
• Foster a culture of operational excellence, customer focus, ownership, learning and inclusion.
• Lead organizational change initiatives that improve team effectiveness, engagement, and productivity.
  
  

Infrastructure Strategy & Modernization

• Define and execute the infrastructure, cloud, automation and AI strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead modernization of data center, network, platform and workplace technologies to improve agility, resilience and scalability.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code, intelligent automation, observability and AI-enabled operations.
• Champion innovation and continuous service improvement across all infrastructure services.
  
  

Operations, Resilience & Governance

• Ensure high availability, performance, security and resilience of enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Lead major incident management, disaster recovery, business continuity and cyber resilience capabilities.
• Establish governance frameworks, operational metrics and service reliability objectives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, security and enterprise technology standards.
  
  

Financial Management & FinOps

• Own the infrastructure and cloud budget, including strategic planning, forecasting and investment prioritization.
• Drive FinOps practices to optimize cloud consumption, vendor spend, technology assets and operational costs.
• Develop business cases that balance innovation, risk reduction, operational efficiency and financial value.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships and ensure delivery against service, cost and transformation objectives.
  
  

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with the CIO, business leaders and global technology teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
• Influence technology decisions through strong leadership, communication and executive engagement.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on infrastructure strategy, modernization, risk and operational performance.
  
  

Academic Qualification

• BSC / MSC in computer science or information technology from a well-reputed university.
• Relevant industry certifications are an added advantage.
  
  

Relevant Experience

• 10+ years of leadership experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, network and technology operations.
• Proven track record delivering infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, automation and AI-driven operational initiatives.
• Strong experience managing data center, cloud, network, workplace, storage, backup and disaster recovery services.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies, modern networking solutions, ITSM, observability and platform engineering practices.
• Experience leading high-performing teams, driving culture transformation, talent development and organizational change.
• Demonstrated success in managing technology budgets, vendor contracts, investment planning and FinOps optimization.
• Experience engaging with regulators, auditors, risk, and compliance stakeholders in highly regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead major incident management, business continuity and cyber resilience programs.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with executive leadership, business leaders and global technology teams.
• Experience operating within a matrix organization and managing regional, offshore, or outsourced technology service providers.
