C&H Power Management Company Limited is a professional Operation & Maintenance (O&M) company engaged in the operation and maintenance of a 2 × 660 MW Coal-Fired Supercritical Thermal Power Plant located at Banskhali, Chattogram, Bangladesh, owned by SS Power I Limited.

As the designated O&M Contractor, C&H Power Management Company Limited is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, efficient, and continuous operation and maintenance of the power plant following its Commercial Operation Date (COD).

Job Purpose

The Head of Electrical will be responsible for leading, planning, and managing all electrical maintenance activities of the 2 × 660 MW Supercritical Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant. The incumbent will ensure the reliability, availability, and safe operation of all electrical systems and equipment through effective maintenance management, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Management

• Lead and supervise all preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities related to electrical systems.
• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of electrical equipment to support uninterrupted plant operation.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to reduce forced outages and equipment failures.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance standards, OEM recommendations, and statutory requirements.

Electrical System Reliability

• Oversee maintenance of generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, excitation systems, DC systems, UPS systems, battery banks, protection systems, and associated electrical auxiliaries.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability enhancement.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of electrical failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Ensure timely troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues affecting plant performance.

Shutdown & Outage Management

• Plan and execute electrical maintenance activities during planned shutdowns and major overhauls.
• Coordinate testing, inspection, calibration, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Ensure all outage activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within scheduled timelines.
• Supervise contractors and external service providers during major maintenance projects.

Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Promote safe working practices and a proactive safety culture throughout the electrical maintenance team.
• Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Ensure proper implementation of electrical isolation and lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Identify training needs and support competency development programs.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance work environment.
• Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation.

Planning & Resource Management

• Prepare annual maintenance plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical electrical components.
• Support procurement activities and vendor management for electrical equipment and services.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor key maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, reliability, MTBF, MTTR, and outage performance.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and annual maintenance reports.
• Analyze equipment performance trends and recommend improvement actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, testing reports, and technical documentation.
