ription The Handloom Weaver role is a full-time, on-site position based in Demra Thana. The role involves operating handlooms to produce high-quality woven fabrics according to specified patterns, designs, and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting and preparing yarns, setting up looms, monitoring the weaving process, and identifying and correcting defects in the fabric. The Handloom Weaver will maintain equipment and tools, follow safety and cleanliness practices in the work area, and coordinate with supervisors or quality control staff to meet production targets and delivery timelines. The role may also include assisting in sample development, implementing new designs, and suggesting improvements to weaving techniques and productivity.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in handloom weaving, including warp and weft preparation, loom setting, and fabric finishing.
• Ability to read and follow weaving patterns, color combinations, and design instructions with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of different types of yarns, fibers, and basic textile properties relevant to handloom production.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and handle manual loom operations safely.
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills to track production, materials used, and quality issues.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and work collaboratively with team members.
• Prior experience in handloom or textile weaving is preferred; vocational training or certification in weaving or textiles is an advantage.
• Openness to learning new techniques, adapting to production requirements, and meeting deadlines reliably.
