German Language Instructor

Role Description The German Language Instructor will deliver engaging, structured German language lessons to learners at various proficiency levels in an on-site setting in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This full-time role includes preparing lesson plans, designing instructional materials, and assessing learner progress through tests, assignments, and classroom activities. The instructor will focus on developing learners’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in German, while integrating aspects of German culture and literature where appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting classes, providing individualized feedback, maintaining accurate records of attendance and performance, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching quality. The instructor will also support the organization’s educational mission by advising learners on language learning strategies and contributing to curriculum improvement.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Language Teaching and Teaching, with experience instructing German to diverse learner groups.
• Candidates should possess skills in Lesson Planning and Education, including developing structured curricula and adapting methods to different proficiency levels.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Literature, particularly German texts, to enrich language instruction with cultural and literary context.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in German Language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; formal teaching certification or training is an advantage.
• Proficiency in German (preferably at B2 level or above according to CEFR) and strong communication skills in English or local language for classroom management.
• Ability to create inclusive, learner-centered classrooms; strong organizational skills and reliability in maintaining schedules and records.
• Previous experience teaching in an academic or language institute setting is preferred; familiarity with exam preparation (e.g., TestDaF, Goethe exams) is a plus.
