Garment Technologist

Role Description The Garment Technologist role at Ha-Meem Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Dhaka. The role involves developing and reviewing garment construction specifications, ensuring patterns and samples meet design and production requirements, and overseeing fittings to achieve accurate sizing, comfort, and aesthetic quality. The Garment Technologist works closely with design, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues, select appropriate fabrics and trims, and verify that garments comply with brand standards and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include monitoring quality control across production lines, analyzing test results for textiles and garments, updating technical documentation, and providing clear communication and guidance to relevant stakeholders. The role also includes continuous improvement of construction methods and processes to support efficiency, consistency, and high product quality.
Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in Garment Construction, including pattern understanding, seam and stitch types, and production feasibility.
• Knowledge of Quality Control processes, with the ability to inspect garments, identify defects, and implement corrective actions.
• Hands-on experience with Fitting, including size specification checks, fit approvals, and collaboration with design and production teams.
• Solid understanding of Textiles, including fabric behavior, denim properties, shrinkage, colorfastness, and suitability for various garments.
• Effective Communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical reports, and presenting solutions clearly.
• Relevant technical education such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in large-scale apparel manufacturing, preferably in denim or woven garments, and familiarity with international buyer requirements.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced factory environment in Dhaka.
