Role Description The Fundamentals of Islam (For Everyday Life) instructor role is a full-time, remote position responsible for teaching foundational Islamic principles and their application in daily life to a diverse global audience. Day-to-day tasks include designing clear, inclusive lesson plans, delivering live or recorded online classes, preparing supporting materials such as slides, reading lists, and practical exercises, and maintaining an accessible learning environment for students of different backgrounds and prior knowledge. The instructor will respond to student questions, facilitate respectful discussions, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and assessments. Additional responsibilities include updating course content to remain accurate and relevant, collaborating with the academy team on curriculum improvements, and participating in occasional community events or Q&A sessions.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of core Islamic beliefs, practices, and ethics, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear, practical, and accessible manner.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, or facilitating online courses, including skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and learner assessment.
• Comfort with digital tools and learning platforms, such as video conferencing software, learning management systems, and basic office applications.
• Excellent communication skills in English, including the ability to present complex topics simply and to engage learners respectfully and professionally.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching that respects diverse backgrounds, cultures, and levels of prior knowledge.
• Relevant formal or informal education in Islamic studies, religious education, or a related field; certificates or degrees are an advantage but not strictly required.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and coordinate with team members across different time zones.
• Prior experience creating educational content (videos, articles, or guides) and an interest in continuous professional development in both pedagogy and subject matter.
