Fire Safety Officer for RSC

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering
• Certification in Fire Science & Occupational Safety Course.

Experience

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments

Additional Requirements

• Age At least 26 years
• Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Law, BNBC, Fire Service requirements, and international compliance standards.
• Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Certification/training in Fire Safety or Occupational Health & Safety will be preferred.

Responsibilities & Context

• Ensure the overall fire safety of the workplace and buildings.
• Check fire preventive materials regularly and Resolve fire safety issues in the respective premises.
• Establish and implement an effective emergency management plan.
• Conduct monthly fire emergency evacuation drills at factory to ensure preparedness and awareness.
• Take initiatives to clean fire-prone areas and Ensure sufficient firefighting equipment and clearly marked fire exits.
• Conduct regular fire risk assessments and take corrective actions & Maintain detailed evacuation plans for all buildings.
• Keep records of hot work permits, ensure safety compliance before hot work (e.g., welding, cutting), perform regular inspections of hot work areas and take corrective actions.
• Daily walk arounds to ensure fire safety systems (CFDS, FPS, extinguishers, fire doors, etc) and with safety committee with OHS check list.
• Enforce a strict policies within factory premises in coordination with Admin and Security.
• Ensure audit readiness for fire safety inspections and certifications.
• Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire safety systems.
• Attend meetings with RSC, consultants, and vendors as required.
• Monitor the fire control panel and public address (PA) system regularly.
• Oversee repair and maintenance of CFDS, FPS (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps), extinguishers, fire shutters, emergency lights, and exit signs.
• Conduct daily compliance checks and follow up on checklist items from Compliance Department.
• Regularly conduct and participate in training sessions with First Aiders, Rescue Team Members, and Firefighters to enhance preparedness and coordination.
• Identify fire hazard areas and take immediate preventive actions.
• Conduct safety committee meeting periodically.
