Job Context

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Fabric Technologist to join our growing technical team. This role is to act as the primary technical bridge between our global buyers, design teams, and external fabric mills/dye houses. You will be responsible for ensuring that all knitted/woven fabrics meet strict quality parameters, compliance standards, and seasonal timelines, while proactively minimizing pre-production and bulk risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabric Quality Assurance: Inspect, test, and evaluate grey, dyed, and finished fabrics to ensure they meet buyer quality standards and specifications.
• R&D and Development: Collaborate with the merchandising and design teams to develop new fabric structures, compositions, and finishes.
• Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with knitting, dyeing, and finishing mills/suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure on-time delivery of bulk fabrics.
• Testing & Analysis: Conduct physical and chemical testing (e.g., shrinkage, color fastness, pilling, burst strength) and analyze lab dip / bulk test reports.
• Shade Band & Approval: Manage color matching, hand-feel approval, and coordinate shade band sign-offs with buyers.
• Process Optimization: Monitor production parameters to minimize fabric rejection rates and improve overall fabric quality.
  
  

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of fabric test reports, inspection data, and specification sheets.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-6 years
• Education: bachelor of science in textile engineering (te)
• Skills: technical knowledge of garment production, textile testing, textile industry knowledge, textile inspection, textile technology, textile knowledge, fabric sourcing, fabric development, fabric finishing, textile design
