Role Description The Fabric Technologist – Synthetic Fabric will be responsible for developing, testing, and approving synthetic fabrics to meet performance, quality, and compliance standards. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with design, sourcing, and production teams to translate product requirements into appropriate fabric specifications, conducting lab and wear trials, and analyzing fabric performance data. The role involves monitoring supplier processes, ensuring adherence to technical standards, resolving fabric-related production issues, and maintaining detailed documentation on test results and fabric performance. The Fabric Technologist will also support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending new synthetic materials, finishes, and technologies that enhance product quality and sustainability. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gazipur.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of synthetic fabrics, fiber properties, yarns, and textile manufacturing processes, especially for apparel and related products.
• Experience in fabric testing and quality assurance, including physical, chemical, and performance tests aligned with industry and client standards.
• Understanding of fabric finishing, dyeing, and processing techniques, with the ability to assess impact on durability, colorfastness, and comfort.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, test reports, and compliance requirements, and convert them into practical guidelines for suppliers and internal teams.
• Effective collaboration skills for working with design, merchandising, sourcing, and production teams, and communicating clearly with external mills and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of fabric issues and recommend timely corrective actions.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in using relevant lab equipment and basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, report templates).
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Materials Science, or a related discipline; professional experience in synthetic fabrics in a manufacturing or sourcing environment is highly preferred.
• Awareness of sustainability trends, compliance standards, and ethical practices in textiles and apparel manufacturing.
