The role requires hands-on experience in compliance monitoring, buyer and third-party audits, documentation, CAP management, factory inspections, and worker engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Social Compliance & Labour Law
- Monitor compliance with Bangladesh Labour Law, Labour Rules, factory regulations, and buyer requirements.
- Ensure effective implementation of company policies and compliance procedures.
- Monitor working hours, wages, overtime, benefits, leave, and employee welfare practices.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Keep updated on labour law and buyer compliance requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate internal, buyer, external, and third-party compliance audits.
- Ensure all required policies, registers, records, and supporting documents are properly maintained.
- Coordinate with relevant departments during buyer and third-party inspections.
- Support auditors and buyer representatives during factory visits.
- Follow up on audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Conduct regular factory inspections and identify potential compliance issues.
- Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to concerned departments.
- Develop, monitor, and follow up on Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Track audit findings and ensure timely and effective closure.
- Maintain records of inspections, observations, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
Support the implementation and maintenance of applicable social compliance and ethical sourcing standards, including:
- BSCI
- SEDEX
- WRAP
- RSC
- C-TPAT
- Buyer-specific Codes of Conduct
- Other applicable international compliance standards
- Support worker interviews during buyer and third-party audits.
- Organize compliance-related training and awareness programs.
- Conduct awareness sessions on labour rights, workplace ethics, grievance mechanisms, health & safety, and company policies.
- Support worker welfare and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in monitoring workplace health, safety, environmental, and security compliance.
- Conduct regular workplace observations and identify potential risks.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to implement corrective measures.
- Support emergency preparedness, safety awareness, and related compliance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documents, policies, registers, and records.
- Prepare monthly and periodic compliance reports for management.
- Prepare compliance presentations and supporting documents for buyers and auditors.
- Maintain records of audits, inspections, CAPs, training, worker awareness programs, and corrective actions.
- Liaise with auditors, buyer representatives, government authorities, and third-party assessment teams when required.
- Coordinate with HR, Production, Administration, Safety, Security, Engineering, and other departments.
- Support management in resolving compliance-related issues.
- Participate in sustainability, responsible manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HRM, Business Administration, Law, Social Science, or a relevant discipline.
- MBA/Master’s in HRM or a relevant field will be preferred.
- Professional certification in Compliance, Social Auditing, Occupational Health & Safety, Labour Law, or related areas will be an advantage.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in Compliance within a garments, textile, accessories, washing, or similar factory environment.
- Hands-on experience in buyer audits, social compliance audits, and factory compliance monitoring.
- Strong practical knowledge of Bangladesh Labour Law and Labour Rules.
- Experience with buyer Codes of Conduct and corrective action processes.
- Experience in factory inspections, audit preparation, documentation, and CAP follow-up.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years
