Job Summary
Responsible for developing commercially viable fashion concepts and garment designs based on market trends, customer requirements and brand direction. The position will work closely with merchandising, sampling and production teams to convert creative concepts into finished garments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Develop new garment designs, collections, color concepts, silhouettes and styling based on market trends, customer requirements and brand direction.
- Trend & Market Research: Research fashion trends, fabrics, colors, trims, washes and garment construction techniques to support new product development.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare sketches, design specifications, mood boards, technical packs and other design-related documentation required for sampling and production.
- Sampling & Production Coordination: Coordinate with merchandising, sampling and production teams; review samples, provide comments and follow up on revisions to achieve the desired design, fit and quality.
- Design Quality & Commercial Suitability: Ensure designs are aligned with customer requirements, target market, brand identity, cost considerations and production feasibility while maintaining creativity and attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design or a related discipline.
- Professional training/certification in Fashion Design will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of fashion and apparel trends.
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims, washes and garment construction.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar design software.
- Strong sketching and design-development skills.
- Knowledge of tech-pack preparation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
