Environment Specialist (Team Leader)

Role Description The Environment Specialist (Team Leader) is a contract, on-site role based outside of Dhaka. This position leads environmental planning, compliance, and monitoring activities for construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with national regulations and company standards. The Team Leader coordinates environmental impact assessments, prepares technical reports, and develops mitigation and monitoring plans in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include guiding site teams on environmental best practices, overseeing waste and resource management, and conducting regular inspections and audits. The role also involves mentoring team members, organizing training on environmental procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of the company’s environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and permitting processes relevant to construction and infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading environmental impact assessments, monitoring programs, and preparing technical documentation and reports.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and basic environmental modeling or assessment software.
• Demonstrated team leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to guide site personnel and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Bangla proficiency is a strong advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects, preferably within Bangladesh or similar markets.
• Ability to work on-site in Dhaka, conduct field visits, and manage multiple projects under defined timelines.
• Professional certifications in environmental management, EIA, or occupational health and safety are beneficial.
