Job Description

Job Context

Solyntra Limited is a senior-led software engineering company in Uttara, Dhaka, building custom software and AI-enabled systems for clients in Australia, the US and the UK. Our production platforms run on AWS with .NET Core and Python services, PostgreSQL, and LLM workloads on Amazon Bedrock.

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and production reliability. This is a hands-on role in a small team. You will be the person developers come to when a deployment fails, an environment drifts, or a service needs to be provisioned properly. Alongside core DevOps, you will take on platform engineering work: build pipelines, observability, security hygiene, backup and recovery, and cost control across multiple AWS accounts and client environments.

Several of our platforms handle regulated financial and personal data for Australian clients. Data must stay in-region, access must be least-privilege, and every production change must be reviewable and reversible. If that discipline is how you already work, you will fit here.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain AWS infrastructure across development, staging and production environments (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Route 53, ACM, WAF)
  • Operate multiple AWS accounts and client environments using AWS Organizations, cross-account roles and strict environment separation
  • Design, maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for .NET Core and Python (FastAPI) services, including database migrations, zero-downtime deployment and rollback
  • Containerise and deploy services with Docker on ECS; manage task definitions, scaling and rollbacks
  • Manage infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred, or CloudFormation) so every environment is reproducible and reviewable
  • Operate PostgreSQL on RDS: backups, point-in-time recovery, version upgrades, performance and connection management in multi-tenant environments
  • Own backup, disaster recovery and restore testing against defined RTO/RPO targets, including long-retention and immutability controls for financial records
  • Set up and maintain logging, monitoring, tracing and alerting (CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry/X-Ray, uptime checks); define SLOs; lead investigation and resolution of production incidents
  • Implement IAM, secrets management, KMS encryption, network and access controls on least-privilege principles: no static long-lived credentials, OIDC-based CI authentication, MFA everywhere
  • Enforce data residency: keep client-data workloads and Bedrock inference in the required AWS region (ap-southeast-2 for Australian clients); manage Bedrock model access, quotas, inference profiles and per-model cost tracking; support SageMaker where required
  • Integrate security and quality checks into CI: SAST, dependency and container image scanning (ECR/Trivy), dynamic security scanning, and automated end-to-end and load test runs
  • Configure and maintain Amazon SES for transactional email: domain verification, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and deliverability monitoring
  • Maintain audit and compliance evidence (CloudTrail, configuration baselines, periodic access reviews) supporting ISO 27001-informed operations and Australian Privacy Act obligations; enforce synthetic or masked data only in non-production environments, logs and screenshots
  • Own AWS cost management: tagging strategy, budgets and alerts, cost per environment and per client, monthly review and optimisation
  • Support developers with environment setup, deployment issues and access provisioning; document infrastructure, runbooks, deployment and recovery procedures

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on DevOps or cloud engineering experience, with at least 2 years managing production workloads on AWS

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred)
  • Hands-on experience operating PostgreSQL in production (RDS preferred)
  • Scripting ability in Bash and Python; PowerShell is a plus
  • Working knowledge of AWS security fundamentals: IAM design, secrets management, KMS, VPC networking, and CI authentication without static access keys
  • Experience deploying .NET Core applications on Linux or containers is a strong advantage
  • Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker is a plus
  • AWS certification is a plus, not a requirement
  • Able to explain infrastructure decisions clearly to developers and non-technical stakeholders in English
