Cutting Manager

Role Description The Cutting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gazipur, responsible for overseeing all cutting room operations for woven and knit garments. The role includes planning daily cutting schedules, ensuring fabric utilization, monitoring marker making and layer planning, and coordinating with production, merchandising, and quality teams to meet order requirements. The Cutting Manager supervises cutting staff, ensures proper handling and identification of cut panels, implements safety and housekeeping standards, and maintains accurate records of fabric consumption, wastage, and output. The position also involves troubleshooting cutting-related issues, maintaining cutting equipment, and supporting continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of garment cutting processes, fabric types, marker making, and lay planning for mass production.
• Experience managing cutting room operations, including workforce supervision, workflow allocation, and performance monitoring.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production, merchandising, and quality teams to meet delivery timelines and style requirements.
• Competence in tracking fabric utilization, controlling wastage, and maintaining cutting-related documentation and reports.
• Familiarity with cutting machinery and tools, with a focus on preventive maintenance and safe operating procedures.
• Solid understanding of quality standards for cut panels, including size, grainline, and pattern accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy for using spreadsheets or ERP systems to manage cutting plans, orders, and inventory.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work under production deadlines.
• Prior experience in a similar role in the apparel or textile industry, preferably in a high-volume factory environment.
• Relevant technical education or vocational training in garment technology, textile engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
