Role Description The Counselor – USA & Canada (Uttara Branch) is a full-time, on-site role based in Uttara. This position involves providing guidance to prospective students on study opportunities in the USA and Canada, including program selection, institution options, admission requirements, and application processes. The Counselor will conduct one-on-one counseling sessions, respond to inquiries via in-person meetings, phone, and email, and maintain accurate records of student interactions and application status. The role includes coordinating with internal teams and international offices, organizing information sessions or events, and ensuring that students receive clear, accurate, and timely information. The Counselor will also support students through standardized testing guidance, visa preparation, and pre-departure briefings, while consistently upholding IDP’s customer-focused standards.

Qualifications

• Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand student goals and provide tailored guidance on study options in the USA and Canada.
• Excellent communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, active listening, and the ability to present information to individuals and small groups.
• Customer service and relationship-building skills, demonstrating empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to delivering a positive experience.
• Organizational and administrative skills, including managing multiple student cases, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
• Basic knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and visa requirements for the USA and Canada (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Comfort with digital tools and CRM or student management systems, as well as proficiency in common office software (e.g., MS Office, email, online collaboration tools).
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Prior experience in student counseling, education consulting, or customer-facing roles is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in Uttara, collaborate within a team, and adapt to evolving processes and global best practices.
