Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and developing a strong volunteer program. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting and onboarding volunteers, scheduling and tracking assignments, and providing ongoing guidance and support. The coordinator will design and deliver volunteer training, maintain clear communication channels, and respond promptly to volunteer questions or concerns. This role also involves collaborating on community outreach initiatives, promoting volunteer opportunities, and gathering feedback to improve the volunteer experience. The coordinator will maintain accurate records, prepare basic reports on volunteer activities, and work closely with internal stakeholders to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals.

• Skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively recruit, onboard, support, and develop volunteers.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build positive relationships and provide clear, respectful guidance to volunteers and partners.
• Experience with Community Outreach to promote volunteer opportunities and engage diverse communities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Comfort using common digital tools (email, video conferencing, spreadsheets or databases) for scheduling, record-keeping, and communication.
• Previous experience coordinating volunteers, working in nonprofit or community-based settings, or similar roles is preferred but not required.
