Description Of The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Child Protection Officer, the Child Protection Assistant is responsible for providing structured, age-, gender-, and needs-appropriate psychosocial support and community-based activities for children, adolescents, and caregivers.
Specific Responsibilities
Implementation of CP and GBV Prevention Activities
- Facilitate Child Protection and GBV Prevention activities, including PSS, life skills, youth engagement, sports for protection, and PM+ interventions.
- Conduct outreach to identify and engage vulnerable children, adolescents, and persons with disabilities.
- Organize and support Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs).
- Monitor activity quality, ensure compliance with Tdh standards, and recommend improvements.
- Support needs assessments, safety mapping, and community consultations.
- Maintain beneficiary records, referrals, reports, and activity data.
- Provide regular updates to the line manager on progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Manage project materials and facilitate internal and external referrals.
- Supervise, mentor, and support volunteers and community-based actors.
- Conduct MEAL activities and integrate beneficiary feedback into programming.
- Facilitate Effective Parenting sessions for parents and caregivers.
- Identify and refer children, adolescents, and caregivers needing additional support.
- Support the development and adaptation of child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and disability-inclusive resources.
- Conduct community outreach to strengthen participation in protection activities.
- Maintain effective relationships with beneficiaries, community members, partners, authorities, and protection stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with the Case Management team to ensure effective referrals.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings and forums.
- Promote inclusion and equal access for all children, especially vulnerable and at-risk groups.
- Identify and refer children requiring protection and specialized support.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with Child Protection Minimum Standards.
- Report safeguarding concerns in line with Tdh policies and procedures.
- Comply with the Tdh Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding Policy, and quality standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor relevant to the role.
- Experience: 1 year
- Education: bachelor of social science in psychology
- Skills: child protection, responsibilities, working with children, assistant duties, project support, child abuse prevention
