Role Description The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Dhaka, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across Akij Venture Group’s portfolio of businesses. The role involves developing and implementing operational strategies, optimizing processes, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term growth plans. The COO will lead and mentor cross-functional teams, establish performance metrics, and monitor operational efficiency, quality, and compliance. This position will collaborate closely with the executive team on budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ethical business practices, and customer-centricity. The COO will represent the organization in key internal and external forums, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information to executive leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in Administrative Assistance and Office Administration for managing large-scale operations and supporting executive decision-making.
• Background in Accounting and financial oversight, with the ability to interpret financial data and contribute to budgeting and cost-control initiatives.
• Experience in Customer Service and stakeholder management, ensuring high-quality engagement with clients, partners, and internal teams.
• Proven senior leadership experience in operations or a similar executive role within large, diversified organizations or conglomerates.
• Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving operational excellence and transformation.
• Ability to work on-site in Dhaka and manage multiple business units in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant academic background such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field; an MBA is an advantage.
