C&H Power Management Company Limited is a professional Operations & Maintenance (O&M) company responsible for the operation and maintenance of a state-of-the-art 2 × 660 MW Coal-Fired Supercritical Thermal Power Plant located in Banskhali, Chattogram, Bangladesh, owned by SS Power I Limited. Position Summary
The Chemistry Operator will be responsible for monitoring and controlling water chemistry, steam chemistry, fuel analysis, and laboratory operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of the power plant. The incumbent will play a critical role in maintaining plant equipment integrity and ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain boiler water, feedwater, condensate, cooling water, and steam chemistry parameters.
- Conduct routine chemical analysis and laboratory testing in accordance with plant procedures and standards.
- Operate and monitor water treatment systems, demineralization plants, and chemical dosing systems.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Record, analyze, and report chemistry data and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Monitor coal, ash, and environmental parameters to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize plant performance and equipment reliability.
- Follow all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations and company policies.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities related to water chemistry and plant process issues.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and operational reports.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering from a recognized university,
OR
- Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience as a Chemistry Operator in a coal-based thermal power plant.
- Practical experience in 660 MW unit capacity thermal power plants is mandatory.
- Sound knowledge of water treatment systems, boiler chemistry, laboratory operations, and environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with supercritical thermal power plant operations will be considered an advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and chemical analysis techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a shift-based operational environment.
- Understanding of power plant safety standards and environmental compliance requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
Monthly Salary Package
- Basic Salary: BDT 1,02,000/-
- Other Allowances: BDT 18,000/-
- Total Monthly Gross Salary: BDT 1,20,000/-
