- Prepare and cook food according to the hotel standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Take responsibility for the assigned kitchen section and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain consistent food quality, taste, portion size, and presentation.
- Ensure proper mise en place is completed before service.
- Monitor food preparation, cooking, and storage according to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned work area, equipment, and utensils.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Coordinate with the Sous Chef and other kitchen team members during service.
- Assist in menu preparation, new dish development, and daily specials when required.
- Control food wastage and ensure proper portion control.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper food storage procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damaged items to the Head Chef.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and properly.
- Train and guide Commis Chefs and junior kitchen staff as required.
- Follow hotel policies, HACCP/food safety procedures, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork, and professional behavior within the kitchen.
- Assist the Head Chef and Executive Chef with any additional duties related to kitchen operations.
- Ensure the assigned section is properly handed over at the end of each shift.
- Experience: 4-6 years
