Branch Underwriter

As a listed legacy organization, we take pride in our industry excellence. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Branch Underwriter to join our branch operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and underwriting insurance risks, determining appropriate pricing and terms, and supporting the branch’s profitability and risk management objectives through sound underwriting decisions.

Job Overview:

• Assess and evaluate insurance risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and authority limits
• Review proposal forms, risk surveys, loss histories, and supporting documents to determine acceptable risk and pricing
• Determine appropriate premium rates, terms, and conditions for new business and renewals
• Prepare and issue quotations, cover notes, policy documents, and endorsements accurately and on time
• Coordinate with related stakeholders to support sound underwriting decisions
• Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and brokers to support business retention and growth
• Ensure compliance with IDRA regulations, internal controls, and underwriting best practices

Key Requirments:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline. Major in Banking & Insurance will be preferred.
• Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. 1–2 years of relevant underwriting experience will be considered an added advantage.
• Professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, AIII, or equivalent) will be an added plus.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles, underwriting processes, policy wording, and pricing.
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and relationship management skills
